Transhippers

LD Ports & Logistics has developed new designs of Transhippers to cater to dry bulk cargo exporters with large capacity requirements to achieve an unrivalled loading performance, whilst offering the simplicity and reliability of bulk loading systems such as Floating Cranes.

With extensive experience in transhipment using floating cranes, LDPL has developed new designs of Transhippers to cater to dry bulk cargo exporters with large capacity requirements to achieve an unrivalled loading performance, whilst offering the simplicity and reliability of bulk loading systems such as Floating Cranes.

Our new Floating Transfer Station is flexibly designed to adapt our technology to the customized requirements of your project needs. This includes loading/unloading rates, volumes handled, buffer capacity and cargo specifications that takes moisture content into consideration.

Floating Transfer Stations

Our design teams have concentrated their efforts on the development of two main types of FTS:

1

2

An environmentally-friendly transhipper; designed to achieve high-speed loading in operational areas where environmental concerns are significant. For instance, the FTS’s conveyors are fully-enclosed to limit cargo spillage and significantly reduce dust emissions. Cargo loading from barges to the FTS is performed using a highly efficient non-grab feeding system. The FTS is fitted with rainwater recovery systems and the low-NOx combustion propulsion technology has been designed to be both highly fuel efficient and environmentally friendly, ensuring rapid movement of the FTS.

Separated hulls with significant buffer capacity; this new concept of FTS is developed for specific operations where cargo blending is required. The bulk floating transfer unit uses two cranes for loading, which gives total redundancy for operations in remote loading areas. The vessel has been designed to provide a significant and variable buffer capacity of up to 80,000t. Thus the transhipper can offer outstanding performance without requiring significant barging capacity to supply cargo, whilst redundancy ensures high operational reliability. The FTS can be fitted with separated buffer areas allowing the separate loading/unloading and blending of different cargo specifications. The two cranes have a sufficient reach to load/unload cargo from the barge directly into the ship, without dropping the cargo in the middle buffer area, thus saving double handling cost.

These innovative designs position LDPL at the pinnacle of high loading performance that ensures reliability and ease of maintenance, leading to efficient and environmentally-friendly operations. This innovative approach breathes new life into FTS solutions.

Grain Transhipper Station

A new grain transhipper station was envisaged by taking inspiration from catamarans that completely shelters two hull barges from rain during cargo covers opening and unloading operations.  LDPL hence adapted its technology to meet this requirement of grain transhipment in a rigorous environment with heavy rain episodes
